Ok so we have seen some of the videos of the people here on WCV and we feel that they are missing some of the key elements of making a great video. So we decided to make a guide for all beginners and people who want to know more on the basics of MVMaking. If you follow this guide we guarantee you that your videos will be better. We will post examples for all the rules in a few minutes.
1st Rule: SYNCBy far the most important part of a video, if you dont have this down your videos wont be too good. There are different types of sync so we are going to break this down into sections.
Beat Sync: The classic and easiest type of sync there is, beat sync. All you have to do is match the wrestlers moves with the drum or percussion beats. Another way to do this is to use a black flash to match the drum or percussion but
BEWARE using too much black flash can ruin your video.

Beat Sync ExampleEX:
Beat Sync Example: Black FlashLyric Sync: This is another type of common sync although it is harder to achieve. This occurs when you match what a wrestler is doing to what the song is saying, an example would be for a song to say "raise your hands" and then for you to put a wreslter "raising his hands".
Clip Sync: This type of sync occurs when instead of a wrestler hitting a move during a drum or percussion beat you make the clip you are using change to another clip. This is another type of common sync.
Pan/Crop Sync: Fairly new type of way to sync your videos, this occurs when instead of using a drum or percussion beat to do any of the other syncs you use it to zoom in or out of a clip. If done correctly it adds a nice touch to your videos.
Lip Sync: The rarest and hardest sync to pull out, this occurs when you match what the wrestler is saying with what the song is saying. For example the singer in the song is screaming and then you place a wrestler screaming during that part. There are many other things you can do with Lip Sync but the example above is the most common one.
Sync is very important in a video, without it the video may look like a bunch of random clips put together. BE AWARE that every good editor uses a combination of these things and adds his own touch to them.
2nd Rule: Song ChoiceThis is extremely important to make your video unique from others. Try to use songs that HAVE NOT been used by anyone else. Keep away from popular songs and songs that WWE or TNA have useed for pppvs since they are more than likely going to get used. Also do not copy other editors songs you migt be the second person that uses it but you will have no originality since you copied there song.
3rd Rule: Pace and FlowThis may take some time to be able to execute but it is important if you want to have a great video. Pace is when you use slow long clips with a slow pace song, and fast paced clips with a fast paced song. Flow is how well your clips match together. You really dont want to be switching from fast paced clips to slow paced clips and vice-versa.
4th Rule: CreativityThis cannot be taught it all depends on the editor, it is how creative you are with your videos. This is important to make your stand out from other peoples videos. If you copy other people with clips or song choice then you are not very creative.
5th Rule: Clip ChoiceAlways try to use HQ clips there are many ways to get them and actually there is no excuse for using low quality clips. Also DO NOT depend on promos or BUs, I have seen videos that leave long strips of promos/BUs and I see that as cheating or just being lazy since anybody can do that. Another thing to remember is to not mix live footage with promos/BUs unless you can hide the fact of which clips are BU and which clips are live footage. If you happen to mix them then it makes your video look bad. Also dont use wreslters talking without the audio in your videos they do nothing more than take up space and make your video look bad.One last important thing DO NOT I repeat DO NOT steal other peoples videos, people who do this have no reason to be editing since they do nothing more than leech off of other peoples hard work.
NOTE: Every editor adds his or her own spin to each of the rules to make their video look unique.
We will post examples for each of the rules later.
